How I got here

I've been consistently writing weekly blogs for a decade, but my journey took a different turn four years ago when we uprooted our children, and quite honestly, ourselves. We left behind everything we knew in Switzerland to embark on an adventure to live and work on the smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines.

Fast forward, and we're no longer in the Caribbean but in Barcelona, a city that feels like the largest imaginable after living on an island with just 280 people. This transition marked a significant change following a year of processing and healing in Switzerland.

This journey has been nothing short of an adventure. Starting over, especially with this first blog after the break, felt somewhat daunting. I felt an underlying pressure for it to be exceptional, especially being a recovering perfectionist. Nonetheless, I've chosen to liberate myself from that weight and simply plunge back in, taking action! This is both a surprise to me and a victory.

So this is me. I figure introducing myself and giving you more insight other than what is on the website would be a good way to start. I hope you agree.

As someone of both American and Malaysian heritage, I spent my childhood close to Zurich, Switzerland. It's quite ironic that despite specifying in my internship notes that I didn't want to work in a bank, I ended up right there. It turned out that God had different plans for me, and I spent eight years in the banking industry. Shortly after becoming pregnant, I transitioned into a role as a private banker and consequently left my job after having my first baby at 27.

I never imagined I'd be working with parents, let alone that it would develop into a profound passion.

I've been deeply moved to support strong and healthy families. The prospect of spreading hope, not just for today but for generations to come, leaving a legacy washed in His blood, genuinely fills me. Encouraging parents is my talent, one I'm determined not to bury but to multiply.

Prior to our departure from Switzerland, my friend and I invested 15 years in developing Childwise, a parenting curriculum, and all that it involved. I am deeply honored to have been part of this ministry and am immensely grateful for the founders who have had a profound impact on our lives. Their personal and caring leadership, along with their passion for growth, has left a lasting impression on me. I consider their friendship a beautiful gift.

Starting this platform has been like carrying a pregnancy, one conceived in God's heart and supported by family and friends. Being based in Barcelona for its launch has been essential, and only God could have orchestrated everything so perfectly.

Welcome to the Family Oasis! My husband and I are thrilled to start this journey and to connect with you.
